Newt Gingrich, a native of Pennsylvania and former House Speaker, cautioned his fellow Pennsylvanians against endorsing Lt. Governor John Fetterman's bid for the U.S. Senate by citing both his reluctance to debate Republican Mehmet Oz and the crime wave that Philadelphia experienced under similarly liberal city leadership. Gingrich cited how Fetterman's choice to head the Pennsylvania Board of Pardons regularly called for 'disarm the police' and to end the requirement that murderers serve life terms in prison.
